How do you ensure my pet stays calm during grooming?
We try our best to create a stress-free environment starting with introducing your pet to their groomer outside the grooming room, this groomer will tend to your pet during their visit, while in the grooming room we never use machines to wash your dog, they will be shown to a kennel and then will shortly after go into the tub, they are hand washed, then hand blown dry, they are then shown back into the kennel where they are dried by a cage dryer that blows constant cool air, we DO NOT use heated dryers, these can dehydrate your pet and cause them to become anxious. Once your pet is dry, they are put onto the grooming table where their designated groomer will finish the groom. Once they are finished we call their family to collect them. We endeavor not to keep your pet waiting in line for their treatment, we try to get them home as soon as we can so as not to cause any unnecessary stress.
How long will my groom take?
We try to only keep them as long as necessary, we offer staggered appointment times so they are not waiting around to be groomed. We aim to get bath dogs home 1 ½ hours to 2 ½ depending on the type and condition of coat (1 ½ for Chihuahua, 2 ½ shepherd husky) Groom dogs we usually aim for a 3-4 hour window, again depending on type and condition of coats, we do ask for patience as sometimes it can run a little longer, some days can be unpredictable as pets can have an off day too! But we will do our best to get them home as soon as possible
Can I leave my pet all day?
Unfortunately we do not currently have the facility to keep pets all day, and also they can find grooming unrestful, therefore we would appreciate if you could collect your pet within 1 hour of us calling you to tell you they are ready.
Do you accept walk-ins?
There are some services for which walk-ins are welcome. These are nail trims and teeth cleaning, we do suggest though that you call ahead to make sure we do have a groomer onsite. In order to ensure a quality groom at a non-rushed, calming pace, we require appointments for most grooming services. Walk in services cannot be accommodated on Fridays or Saturdays, please call ahead to book an appointment
Do you accept cats?
Yes, we welcome your feline friends! However, we do require that all cat services are provided by appointment only; no walk-ins will be accepted. Additional time may be required for some cats, sometimes they do not adapt to the grooming procedure and can also take longer to dry, please be prepared to leave your kitty with us for around 4-5 hours.
Do you take all breeds?
Yes we do! We try our hardest to cater for everyone, we do have experienced groomers who will try and work with special needs clients, and we also welcome giant breeds, Pit bulls and Mastiffs. We do appreciate however if your pet has any behavioral problems you could inform us before the grooming commences so that we can prepare for it and ensure everyone in the grooming room are kept safe.
Do you sedate the pets?
No, occasionally the whole grooming experience can be stressful on some pets, and they may never get used to the experience, in these occasions we may recommend a light sedation which will just make them more happier in their surroundings, we do recommend that you ask your vet for sedation and administer at home prior to visiting the spa.
